Report: Hornets sign Briante Weber to 10-day deal

Briante Weber wasn't out of work for long.

Just hours after being let go by the Golden State Warriors upon the completion of his second 10-day contract, Weber is being scooped up by the Charlotte Hornets on another 10-day, sources told The Vertical's Shams Charania.

Over the course of his two short deals in Golden State, Weber played in seven games, scoring 12 total points on 5-of-14 shooting in 46 minutes of deep-bench duty. Before being signed by the Warriors, he played 29 games for the D-League's Sioux Falls Skyforce, averaging 16.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and a league-leading three steals.

The Hornets have been thin at the point guard spot since Ramon Sessions went down with a torn meniscus early this month, and Weber should split backup duty with Brian Roberts behind Kemba Walker.

Charlotte has lost 12 of its last 14 games to fall out of the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
