Warriors' Kevin Durant: Will not play Saturday vs. Nets

Durant has been ruled out of Saturday's game against the Nets due to left hand bruise, Anthony Slater of the San Jose Mercury News reports.

Analysis:

The bruise on his non-shooting hand is apparently located on his pinkie finger. It is unclear when the injury was sustained, but it presumably occurred in Thursday's win over the Clippers. While the severity of the issue is unknown, it is likely that the Warriors are exercising caution with their star small forward in order to avoid a potential lingering issue. The absence will mark Durant's first of the season. Expect Andre Iguodala to pick up a majority of the work at small forward in his place, while Patrick McCaw and Ian Clark could see some increased minutes as well. Consider Durant day-to-day going forward.
