Pacers' Al Jefferson: Out Friday with dental issue

Jefferson is recovering from a dental procedure and won't play Friday against the Grizzlies.

Analysis:

Jefferson is apparently still dealing with some pain in his mouth, so the Pacers will give him the night off and reevaluate his condition prior to Saturday's game against the Heat. Fortunately for the Pacers, they'll be able to reclaim some depth in the frontcourt with the likely returns of Thaddeus Young (wrist) and Lavoy Allen (knee), so coach Nate McMillan shouldn't have too much difficulty finding players to cover Jefferson's 14.6 minutes per game.
