Knicks' Kristaps Porzingis: Out several days with sprained ankle

Porzingis (ankle) will be sidelined for several days, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Analysis:

The good news for Porzingis, who exited Thursday's loss to the Cavaliers with a sprained right ankle and was spotted in a walking boot after the game, is that he sustained no ligament damage in the process. His recovery timetable is still a bit up in the air, but it appears safe to rule him out for Saturday's game against the 76ers, and it's also fairly unlikely that he suits up Monday against the Raptors. The Knicks should have more clarity on the extent of Porzingis' setback in the next few days, but with Joakim Noah (hamstring) also hurting, coach Jeff Hornacek could be forced to rely more heavily on Willy Hernangomez, Kyle O'Quinn and Lance Thomas in the frontcourt.
