Lou Williams leads Rockets with 27 points in debut

There was no shortage of hype leading up to Thursday night's game at Smoothie King Center for DeMarcus Cousins' debut with the New Orleans Pelicans.

However, Lou Williams spoiled the party in his first game as a member of the visiting Houston Rockets.

The veteran joined the third-place team via a trade Tuesday from the Los Angeles Lakers, and didn't even have enough time to squeeze in a practice or shootaround before his debut.

He apparently didn't need either. Williams was hot from the get-go, drilling back-to-back treys within 30 seconds of checking into the contest. The former Sixth Man of the Year finished with 27 points - including seven 3-pointers - in Houston's 129-99 victory.

Coach Mike D'Antoni's men have the second-most potent offense in the NBA, notching 114.7 points and 25.5 assists per game while attempting and hitting the most threes.

Something tells us Williams will fit in swimmingly with the Rockets.
