Nuggets acquire Hibbert from Bucks

Having whiffed on their bold Paul George gambit, the Denver Nuggets quickly pivoted, acquiring Milwaukee Bucks center Roy Hibbert in exchange for a heavily protected 2019 second-round draft pick.

The Nuggets' motivations were likely more about reaching the salary floor than in acquiring Hibbert, who didn't even suit up in Milwaukee after being traded there by the Charlotte Hornets earlier this month. The Bucks acquired him in order to help offload Miles Plumlee's contract.

The 30-year-old is averaged 5.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and one block in 42 games with the Hornets this season, and shot a career-best 54.2 percent from the field.
