Report: Thunder targeting Bulls' Gibson, Chicago interested in Payne
Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports
Taj Gibson of the Chicago Bulls has emerged as one of the Oklahoma City Thunder's targets ahead of Thursday's 3 p.m. ET trade deadline, sources told ESPN's Marc Stein.
The Bulls have interest in Thunder backup point guard Cameron Payne, Stein reported later.
The Thunder are looking for a big with Enes Kanter still on the shelf, and Gibson could bolster OKC's frontcourt size and rebounding. The 31-year-old is also on an expiring contract and will be a free agent this summer.
Gibson is averaging 11.6 points and seven rebounds on 52 percent shooting. Payne, 22, is averaging 5.3 points and two assists in 16 minutes.
