Kings' Garrett Temple: Return date remains uncertain

Temple (hamstring) remains without a clear return date, James Ham of CSN Bay Area reports.

Analysis:

Temple was ruled out for two-to-three weeks after suffering a partial hamstring tear Feb. 1, which would theoretically put him near a return. However, the Kings are opting to remain cautious with Temple for the time being, and the veteran wing's absence from practice Tuesday suggests he's on track to miss Thursday's game against the Nuggets, and perhaps several more games to come. With the Kings recently adding Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, and Langston Galloway to the roster following the trade of DeMarcus Cousins, the Kings are well stocked on the wing, so it shouldn't be much of a challenge for the team to cover minutes at either shooting guard or small forward while Temple, Malachi Richardson (hamstring) and Rudy Gay (Achilles) are all sidelined. It's unclear how Temple will fit into the Kings' rotation plans once he's healthy again, but the fact that he's one of the few wing options signed beyond 2016-17 works in his favor.
