Pelicans' Tyreke Evans: Swingman dealt to Kings in huge trade

The Kings acquired Evans, Buddy Hield, Langston Galloway and 2017 first- and second-round picks from the Pelicans on Sunday in exchange for DeMarcus Cousins and Omri Casspi (foot), Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Analysis:

After winning Rookie of the Year honors in 2009-10 with the Kings, Evans will head back to the organization where it all started. Evans saw his statistical production take a hit in each of the subsequent three seasons before heading over to the Pelicans, where he's since been limited to 51 games over the past two seasons while dealing with myriad injuries. After requiring surgery on his right knee last February, Evans didn't make his season debut until December and has yet to play more than 28 minutes in any game this season. Evans' restrictions seem to have loosened of late, and he could see a spike in his fantasy value with the move to the Kings, who are now short on scoring options with Cousins in New Orleans and Rudy Gay (Achilles) out for the season. Look for Evans to either start at one of the two wing spots or serve as the Kings' sixth man as he attempts to show he's healthy and rebuild value before becoming an unrestricted free agent this summer.
