Celtics' Isaiah Thomas: Sets franchise record in Thursday loss

Thomas provided 29 points (8-18 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 9-9 FT), seven assists and three rebounds over 34 minutes in Thursday's 104-103 loss to the Bulls.

Analysis:

Thomas broke John Havlicek's franchise record of consecutive games with 20 or more points by accomplishing the feat for the 41st straight contest, but the accomplishment was bittersweet considering the heartbreaking nature of the loss. However, it did provide a fitting conclusion to Thomas' outstanding first half, and also marked the fourth straight contest in which he's drained four three-pointers. Both his long-range shooting and ability to get to the free-throw line at a robust rate (no fewer than seven visits to the charity stripe in the last 11 contests) are helping to insure that the sixth-year pro remains one of the most consistent offensive players in any format this season.
