Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry was ruled out of Friday night's contest versus the Boston Celtics due to a wrist injury and will be further evaluated this weekend, head coach Dwane Casey told reporters.

The 30-year-old sustained the injury in last week's victory over the Charlotte Hornets.

Casey said that Lowry expected the injury to heal during the break, prompting him to play in Sunday's All-Star Game, according to TSN's Josh Lewenberg.

An unrestricted free agent this summer, Lowry is in the midst of another stellar season, averaging 22.8 points, 6.9 assists, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.4 steals on 46.3 percent shooting.

Backup point guards Cory Joseph and Delon Wright are likely to see extended minutes in Lowry's absence.
