Bulls' Dwyane Wade: Will not play Thursday vs. Celtics

Wade (wrists) is dealing with an illness and won't play Thursday against the Celtics, Nick Friedell of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Wade had already missed the Bulls' previous two games with soreness in both of his wrists, but was able to go through about half of Wednesday's practice, providing some hope that he'd be available for the team's final contest before the All-Star break. However, with Wade feeling sick Thursday morning and missing the team's shootaround, the Bulls decided it was best for the veteran to sit out and take advantage of the extra week off until their next game Feb. 24 against the Suns. The assumption is that Wade will be ready to take back his starting role at that time, but for Thursday's game, look for Jerian Grant and Michael Carter-Williams to stick in the backcourt on the top unit.
