Nuggets' Mason Plumlee: Acclimates to altitude with 11 in debut

In his debut with the Nuggets, Plumlee posted 11 points (4-8 FG, 0-1 3pt, 3-6 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and a block over 34 minutes in Wednesday's 112-99 loss to the Timberwolves.

Analysis:

The shorthanded Nuggets rushed Plumlee to duty on Wednesday and he didn't disappoint, although he was visibly fatigued from playing so many minutes in the high altitude. The Nuggets were down to eight players Wednesday, with several players out with a variety of ailments, so Plumlee couldn't have arrived at a better time. Although it's assumed that Plumlee was brought on to backup Nikola Jokic (who has injury issues of his own this season), he's temporarily found a nice situation to be utilized in with so many players sidelined. The Nuggets hope to be healthy after the All-Star break, so a wait-and-see approach to Plumlee's fantasy relevance is probably the wisest course of action.
