Bulls' Nikola Mirotic: Practices Wednesday

Mirotic (back) participated in Wednesday's practice session, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Analysis:

Mirotic has missed the Bulls' past two games due to back spasms, but his return to practice is an encouraging sign for his status Thursday against the Celtics. Coach Fred Hoiberg initially labeled Mirotic as doubtful for that contest earlier in the week, but it's possible the big man's participation in Wednesday's session changed his evaluation. In the event the Bulls decide to hold Mirotic out through the All-Star break, Bobby Portis would be in store for added minutes off the bench.
