Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Non-factor in loss to Kings

Russell posted 8 points (3-9 FG, 3-8 3pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, two steals and an assist over 23 minutes in Tuesday's 97-96 loss to the Kings.

Analysis:

Russell struggled mightily in this game and was pulled from the lineup in the fourth quarter. After a great game two weeks ago against the Celtics, Russell has lost his stroke of late, averaging an ice-cold 38.2 percent from the floor over the last seven games. Coach Luke Walton seems anxious to mix things up when things aren't clicking and that has adversely affected Russell's ability to find a rhythm, which in turn is bad news for the entire team. He does seem to be past the calf injury that sidelined him for three games last month, however. He'll try to bounce back against the Suns on Wednesday, a team that ranks 23rd in defense versus point guards.
