Timberwolves' Lance Stephenson: Doubtful to return Tuesday

Stephenson is doubtful to return to Tuesday's game against the Cavaliers after rolling his left ankle, Timberwolves radio play-by-play broadcaster Alan Horton reports.

Analysis:

The injury occurred in the second quarter, when Stephenson stumbled after catching a swing pass at the top of the key. He required assistance to the locker room and looks to be done for the night, putting his status up in the air for the second half of the back-to-back set Wednesday against the Nuggets. Even with the recently-signed Stephenson entering the mix, coach Tom Thibodeau has still been running a tight rotation, and he could end up leaning on starting shooting guard Brandon Rush and sixth man Shabazz Muhammad even more heavily if Stephenson is ruled out Wednesday.
