Trail Blazers' Al-Farouq Aminu: Doubtful for Wednesday vs. Jazz

Aminu is dealing with a left knee sprain and is listed as doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Jazz, Casey Holdahl of Blazers.com reports.

Analysis:

While the Trail Blazers didn't announce that Aminu was dealing with an injury after Monday's overtime loss to the Hawks, it's assumed that the forward picked up the injury in that contest, during which he provided 14 points, 15 rebounds, two assists and one steal in 39 minutes. With Wednesday's game marking their last outing before the All-Star break, the Trail Blazers will likely take a cautious approach and hold Aminu out, which would give him a little over a week to recover prior to the team's next game Jan. 23 against the Magic. In Aminu's stead, starting power forward Noah Vonleh could take on a more sizable role, and the team's other three rotational big men -- Ed Davis, Meyers Leonard and the newly-acquired Jusuf Nurkic -- would also take on increased minutes.
