Trail Blazers' Ed Davis: Double-doubles off bench Monday

Davis supplied 11 points (5-8 FG, 1-6 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists and one block across 27 minutes in Monday's 109-104 overtime loss to the Hawks.

Analysis:

With Mason Plumlee now with the Nuggets and the newly-acquired Jusuf Nurkic unavailable, Davis stepped up with his best performance of the season. Starting center Meyers Leonard could only produce two points, six rebounds and three assists over 24 minutes, but Davis' contributions off the bench helped make up for some of the shortfall. The rebounds were a season high for the veteran, who had been dropped from the rotation in the Blazers' previous game Thursday against the Celtics. With Nurkic expected to suit up for Wednesday's game versus the Jazz, it's expected that both Davis and Leonard will see their playing time affected in a negative way.
