Trail Blazers' Meyers Leonard: Will start at center Monday vs. Hawks

Leonard will start at center for Monday's game against the Hawks, Mike Richman of The Oregonian reports.

Analysis:

Leonard will get the first crack at replacing the departed Mason Plumlee in the starting five, but it could very well only be a one-game appointment, as Jusuf Nurkic, who was acquired from the Nuggets in the Plumlee trade, could end up getting a look on the top unit before long. Nurkic will be held out Monday in order to get acclimated with his new team, but expected him to make his team debut Wednesday against the Jazz, which should translate to fewer minutes for both Leonard and Ed Davis, who figure to share the center spot Monday. Leonard is averaging 6.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 three-pointers in 20.7 minutes per game over his last four appearances, so he doesn't profile as a strong DFS play.
