Nuggets' Kenneth Faried: Ruled out Friday vs. Knicks

Faried (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Knicks, Harrison Wind of BSN Denver reports.

Analysis:

Faried rolled his right ankle in Wednesday's loss to the Hawks, and though X-rays came back negative, the Nuggets will play it safe with the big man and hold him out for at least one game. The Nuggets are back on the schedule again Saturday against the Cavaliers, and since the team won't hold morning shootaround in advance of that game, Faried's status may not be known until shortly before game time. With Faried sidelined Friday, the Nuggets will likely shift Wilson Chandler over to power forward and use Will Barton at small forward in place of the injured Danilo Gallinari (groin).
