Pacers' Thaddeus Young: X-ray results negative, listed as day-to-day

X-rays on Young's sprained left wrist came back negative, but he'll require an MRI on Saturday before the Pacers determine his status for their game later that day against the Pistons, Nate Taylor of the Indianapolis Star reports.

Analysis:

Young didn't return to action after sprained the wrist in the second half of Friday's 106-97 win over the Nets, finishing the evening with 10 points (5-9 FG), nine boards, four steals, three assists and two blocks in 22 minutes. While the fact that Young isn't dealing with any structural damage is encouraging, it still sounds as though an absence could be in store for the forward, especially with the Pacers heading into the second half of the back-to-back set. We'll view him as day-to-day until the results of the MRI are read, but if Young is forced to miss time, Paul George could be asked to shift over to power forward, while complementary players like C.J. Miles, Lavoy Allen, Monta Ellis and Glenn Robinson could be thrust into slightly larger roles.
