Bucks' Spencer Hawes: Dealt to Milwaukee on Thursday

Hawes and center Roy Hibbert were traded to the Bucks on Thursday in exchange for center Miles Plumlee, Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Analysis:

Hawes had been seeing a larger role with the Hornets lately with Cody Zeller (quad) out for the past five games, including his first start of the season in the team's most recent contest Wednesday against the Warriors. However, with neither Hawes nor Hibbert being viewed as members of the Hornets' long-term core, the duo was packaged to Milwaukee in exchange for Plumlee, who is under contract for three more seasons beyond 2016-17. Hawes and Hibbert will find themselves in an even deeper frontcourt in Milwaukee, which has already started Greg Monroe, John Henson and Thon Maker at center this season, but as the best outside shooter of the bunch, Hawes could have a shot at emerging as a rotation player. Even so, Hawes is seemingly unlikely to see enough playing time to make a meaningful impact in most fantasy leagues.
