Lakers' Julius Randle: Cleared to return to team, but out Tuesday vs. Nuggets

Randle (illness) was cleared Monday to resume basketball activities, but won't play Tuesday against the Nuggets.

Analysis:

It appears the worst of Randle's case of pneumonia is behind him, but he still needs time to regain some conditioning, so he'll be sidelined for a second straight game Tuesday. Randle is set to join the Lakers for the their upcoming five-game road trip, but the team may not make a ruling on his status for Thursday's game against the Wizards until after their morning shootaround that day. In the meantime, Tarik Black is expected to make another start at power forward Tuesday, with Larry Nance serving as his top backup.
