Knicks' Brandon Jennings: Double-doubles in Sunday's start

Jennings started at point guard and accumulated 18 points (5-15 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 11 assists, three rebounds and one steal across 53 minutes during Sunday's 142-139 quadruple-overtime loss to the Hawks.

Analysis:

Filling in for the injured Derrick Rose (ankle), Jennings was already in line for a sizable bump in playing time, but the extra 20 minutes allowed him to claim his second double-double of the season. The 27-year-old is now averaging 17.6 points, 6.4 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 2.0 three-pointers in 36.9 minutes per game over his seven starts this season, and looks like he could be a nice pickup in the short term. Coach Jeff Hornacek hinted that Rose will likely miss the Knicks' back-to-back set Tuesday and Wednesday against the Wizards and Nets, respectively, potentially allowing Jennings to receive a couple more starts.
