Curry misses 1st game of season with stomach flu

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

Stephen Curry sat out his first game the season Sunday night when the Golden State Warriors took on the Portland Trail Blazers. A stomach flu is the culprit, the team announced.

It was Curry's first DNP of the campaign, and it comes after he played through quad soreness Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers. It didn't seem to bother him, though, as he scored 43 points in a 144-98 Warriors rout.

For all the hand-wringing over Curry's perceived drop in production this season, it's worth noting the Dubs are still 12.7 points per 100 possessions better when he's on the floor, the top number of any player on the team.

Reserve big man David West also sat out his sixth straight game due to a thumb injury.
