Given the positive reception he received at the ESPYs three years ago, Toronto Raptors global ambassador Drake is looking to give hosting another shot.

The Toronto-based rapper announced on John Calipari's podcast that he will be producing and hosting the league's brand new NBA awards show held on June 26 in New York.

"I’m actually producing and hosting the first annual NBA Awards this year," Drake said on "Cal Cast." "I get to take the reigns on it."

All of the league's annual awards will be announced during the show, including Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and MVP.

"The ESPYs let me do great things, and I thank them a lot for that," Drake said. "Usually award shows sometimes are a bit restricted. But they let me do a lot at the ESPYs, so we’ll just expand on that concept.

"I love hosting. I love being in a room full of iconic, legendary people that I look up to and having that pressure of having to make them laugh and enjoy their evening."
