Report: Nuggets waive Mo Williams, sign Johnny O'Bryant to 10-day

The Denver Nuggets plan to waive Mo Williams (yet again) to make room for power forward Johnny O'Bryant, who will join the club on a 10-day contract, sources told Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post.

Denver claimed Williams off waivers Monday after already waiving him once earlier in the year - that time after acquiring him from the Atlanta Hawks. The purpose of these moves is to use Williams' salary to climb up to the salary floor while the veteran guard washes his way out of the league.

Williams debated retirement, but ultimately returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers where he was ineffective following knee surgery. He was then traded to the Hawks, moved to the Philadelphia 76ers, and now twice claimed by Denver.

O'Bryant is a 23-year-old from LSU, who averaged three points and 2.4 rebounds in 12.3 minutes over the last two seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks. The 6-foot-9 forward has decent range but has largely struggled on both ends of the floor early in his career since being picked 36th overall in 2014.
