Report: Pistons, Wolves discussing Jackson-Rubio trade

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Detroit Pistons are looking to make a splash at this year's trade deadline.

While nothing is imminent, both sides have discussed a deal that would send Ricky Rubio to the Motor City in return for Reggie Jackson, sources tell ESPN's Marc Stein and Chris Haynes.

Minnesota has been looking to trade Rubio for a while now, and are reportedly willing to include guard/forward Shabazz Muhammad in any trade proposal to sweeten the deal.

The 26-year-old Spaniard is in the midst of his worst statistical season as a pro, averaging career-lows in points (7.7), and rebounds (3.9), while shooting a ghastly 37.1 percent from the floor and 24.1 percent from deep.

Jackson has struggled after returning from a knee injury earlier this season, and already admitted to tuning out head coach Stan Van Gundy back in December.

After reaching the postseason in 2015-16, the Pistons have struggled this year, sitting just 10th in the Eastern Conference with a 20-24 record.

The Sacramento Kings have reportedly also expressed interest in Rubio as they continue to search for a competent starting point guard.
