4 other incredibly obvious NBA traveling calls

USA Today Sports

Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star Russell Westbrook had the most distinguishable brain fart of the 2016-17 regular season on Wednesday when he took the basketball for a walking tour of Oracle Arena in the middle of a game against the Golden State Warriors.

NBA officials refrain from blowing the whistle numerous times every year on players who travel, no matter how blatant it is. No one in their right mind could let Westbrook get away with this quaint little stroll, though.

Before we pile on the Thunder star too much for his hilarious miscue, let's spread the ridicule around and take a look at four other players who committed some of the worst travels we've ever seen - all of which, unlike Westbrook's, went undetected by the referees.

Corey Brewer

Three steps without a dribble constitutes a travel and a turnover for the player in possession of the ball, when it's actually called.

Corey Brewer had neither on this possession, because the official felt it was perfectly fine for him to pick up his dribble beyond the 3-point line on this uncontested fast-break jam.

It's time to jam to the Ciara remix, because this truly was a 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 step.

D.J. Augustin moved his feet so fast, he could have been pulled over for speeding had he been living in the stone age and driving Fred Flinstone's car.

Now let's all ponder over what the official was daydreaming about to miss this call despite staring at Augustin the entire time, just a few feet away from the play.

Carmelo Anthony

Seriously ... will someone blow the freaking whistle already?

Carmelo Anthony doesn't want out of the Big Apple, but had he taken this many steps at Madison Square Garden instead of South Beach, he would have found himself leaving the city without even realizing it.

Josh Smith

Don't worry, Josh Smith, pivoting is hard!

The Houston Rockets' coaching staff must have had a field day trying to teach him how to keep his planted foot stuck to the hardwood the following practice, if only because the odds of him getting away with something similar again won't be that high.
