Pachulia remorseless over Westbrook flagrant: 'If he got hurt, that's fine too'

USA Today Sports

Golden State Warriors center Zaza Pachulia believes hard fouls during the course of an NBA game, such as the flagrant 1 he had against Russell Westbrook on Wednesday night, are like death and taxes - inevitable.

"You just move on," Pachulia said following Golden State's 121-100 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder at Oracle Arena, according to ESPN's Royce Young. "If he got hurt, that's fine too. It's part of the game."

As Westbrook tried to dribble around a screen set by teammate Enes Kanter, Pachulia emerged from the side and knocked the triple-double machine to the floor with a hard pick before standing over him to seemingly establish dominance.

This appeared to be retaliation on Pachulia's part, as he received a hard elbow from Westbrook on a drive to the basket during the previous play.

"If it was a hard foul, it was a hard foul," Pachulia added, according to the Mercury News' Anthony Slater. "It wasn't dirty at all."

Asked afterward about the Georgian big man's actions, Westbrook proclaimed that he was going to "get his ass back," taking exception to the fact that Pachulia felt the need to look down on him following the hard contact.

If revenge is what Westbrook seeks, he'll have an opportunity to get it Feb. 11 when Pachulia, former Thunder star Kevin Durant, and the Warriors visit Chesapeake Energy Arena.

"Bring it on," Pachulia said, according to the Washington Post's Tim Bontemps. "Bring it on.

"I’ll be there. I’ll be in OKC, too, so whenever he wants, my pleasure. My pleasure."
