Pelicans' Anthony Davis: Questionable for Wednesday vs. Magic

Davis is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Magic due to a right hip contusion and a left thumb sprain.

Analysis:

Davis was removed from Monday's game against the Pacers after injuring his hip and thumb following a hard fall in the second half. X-rays on both injuries came back negative, suggesting he not at risk of a long-term absence, but the Pelicans could still err on the side of caution and hold him out Wednesday if he's still experiencing pain leading up to the game. Omer Asik previously started at center when Davis sat out Jan. 12 against the Nets, but he only played five minutes in that contest. Instead, big men Terrence Jones and Dante Cunningham would be more likely to benefit from a Davis absence.
