Knicks' Kristaps Porzingis: Does not expect to play Sunday

Porzingis (Achilles) doesn't expect to play Sunday against the Raptors, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.

Analysis:

After missing Thursday's win over the Bulls following a recurrence of a sore left Achilles, which sidelined him for three games nearly two weeks ago, Porzingis was held out of most of Saturday's practice and looks bound to sit out another game. Given Porzingis' long-term value to the franchise, it's likely that he won't return to action until he's 100 percent healthy, so his status is in some murky ground heading into the upcoming week. Lance Thomas would likely continue to start for the duration of Porzingis' absence, with Mindaugas Kuzminskas taking on a larger role off the bench.
