Pelicans' Anthony Davis: Ruled out Thursday vs. Nets

Davis has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Nets, Justin Verrier of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Davis sustained a bruised right hip in Monday's win over the Knicks and was forced to exit, but it generally expected that the big man would be available Thursday. However, the Pelicans have decided it's in the superstar's best interest to sit this one out, so Davis should be on tap for an extended rest ahead of Saturday's tilt with the Bulls. While a starter hasn't been announced in place of Davis, Donatas Motiejunas and Terrence Jones would likely be the primary beneficiaries of added court time and usage Thursday.
