Gobert jokes about changing nationality for more All-Star votes

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

All-Star voting has Rudy Gobert wishing he was from a different country.

The second returns of fan voting for starters were released Thursday, and the Frenchman's name was nowhere to be found.

This despite the fact he's averaging 12.3 points on a league-leading true shooting percentage of 68.2 percent to go along with 12.3 rebounds (fifth) and 2.5 blocks (first). He's helped the fifth-place Utah Jazz not only stay afloat amid a host of unfortunate injuries, but also contend in the wild West. The only player in SLC who hasn't missed any time in 2016-17, Gobert anchors the team's top-ranked defense and is a strong DPOY candidate.

And yet, Zaza Pachulia, who averages just 5.5 points and 5.7 rebounds for the Golden State Warriors, is second in voting for Western Conference frontcourt players. Sure, he's garnered votes from the Dubs' booming fan base, but the bigger push is believed to be from supporters in his home country of Georgia.

With that in mind, Gobert took to Twitter to voice his disappointment in voters from his native France:

Sacre bleu.
