Bulls' Butler: Out for Tuesday's game against Washington

Jimmy Butler (illness) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Wizards.

Analysis:

Butler was removed early from Monday's 109-94 loss to the Thunder after the illness sapped him of energy during his 29 minutes, as he finished with a season-low one point while missing all six of his field-goal attempts. The Bulls will give him the second half of the back-to-back set off in order to aid his recovery, and the team could be forced to dust off some of their deep backcourt reserves Tuesday, as Dwyane Wade (rest) is also scheduled to sit out. Doug McDermott and Nikola Mirotic are expected to shoulder the bulk of the scoring burden on the wing Tuesday, while backup guards Denzel Valentine (ankle), Jerian Grant, Isaiah Canaan and Paul Zipser could all be in line for more playing time than normal. Coach Fred Hoiberg also hasn't ruled out the possibility of playing Rajon Rondo, who has been held out of the rotation in the last five games.
