Report: Dunleavy hasn't reported to Hawks, seeking buyout

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Mike Dunleavy has yet to report to the Atlanta Hawks after the Cleveland Cavaliers officially dealt him Saturday in the Kyle Korver trade, league sources told ESPN's Marc J. Spears and Marc Stein. The veteran forward is seeking a buyout that would make him a free agent, the sources said.

However, the Hawks would reportedly like to bring Dunleavy aboard and are working toward a solution. The 36-year-old is due $4.8 million this season, and is only guaranteed $1.6 million of $5.2 million next season.

Dunleavy was included alongside inactive guard Mo Williams and a protected 2019 first-round pick in the deal that brought sharpshooter Korver to Cleveland. Dunleavy signed with the Cavs last summer after LeBron James personally spent two years recruiting him.

The 15-year veteran did not play particularly well in his 23 games with Cleveland, hitting a career-low 40 percent of his shots with a player efficiency rating of just 7.7.
