Report: Nuggets 'openly shopping' Jusuf Nurkic

Chris Humphreys / USA TODAY Sports

Jusuf Nurkic may be on his way out of the Mile High City.

With young center Nikola Jokic in the midst of a breakout campaign, the Denver Nuggets are openly shopping Nurkic, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

The 22-year-old big man has struggled to see the floor after losing his starting gig to Jokic last month, averaging just 15.8 minutes per game in December. He has publicly expressed his displeasure with his lack of playing time, telling reporters he's "not here to sit on the bench."

The Nuggets have been linked to Paul Millsap, and could be interested in dealing Nurkic to the Hawks.

While Jokic has had a better season overall, Nurkic has continued to put up solid numbers in his limited playing time, averaging 16.9 points, 12.2 rebounds, 1.7 blocks, and 1.1 steals per 36 minutes.

Veterans Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, and Kenneth Faried are presumed to be available as well, according to Stein.
