Report: Bulls not shopping Jimmy Butler

It appears Jimmy Butler will remain in Chicago for the time being.

Contrary to recent reports, the Bulls have no interest in moving their star shooting guard, and will not be making him available at this year's trade deadline, sources tell ESPN's Marc Stein.

Despite his terrific play, Butler has found himself in trade rumors over the past 12 months, with the Bulls reportedly in talks with the Minnesota Timberwolves during last year's draft.

Chicago has sputtered after a hot start to the season, going just 6-11 during the month of the December. While they've started the new year with back-to-back victories, the Bulls still rank eighth in the East, which has likely played a part in how the rumors originated.

The 6-foot-7 wing is in the midst of his best season as a pro, averaging career-highs in points (25.2) and rebounds (6.8), while ranking third in the NBA in win shares (7.0) and eighth in VORP (2.9).

Things could still change from now until the deadline, but it certainly looks like the Marquette product will be in a Bulls uniform for the remainder of the 2016-17 campaign.
