Cuban denies trade rumors surrounding Wes Matthews

While they sit just 14th in the Western Conference with a 11-25 record, the Dallas Mavericks appear to have no interest in trading starting shooting guard Wesley Matthews.

After reports surfaced indicating that the Mavericks were listening to offers on Matthews, billionaire owner Mark Cuban let it be known that Dallas isn't looking to move the seven-year veteran.

"We are not listening to any Wes trade offers," Cuban told Mike Fisher of DallasBasketball.com.

After being largely disappointing during his first year in Dallas, Matthews has bounced back this season, and would be a strong addition to any playoff contender looking for a 3-and-D wing.

The 30-year-old shooting guard is averaging 15.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists on 37.5 percent from deep in 35 games.

Matthews is making more than $17 million this season, meaning the Mavericks would need to take back a big contract in a potential deal.

Dallas could also trade center Andrew Bogut, who has struggled since being acquired from the Golden State Warriors last summer.
