Kings' Ty Lawson: Starting at shooting guard Friday

Lawson will start at point guard Friday against the Clippers, Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee reports.

Analysis:

It will be Lawson's first start since Nov. 25, as coach Dave Joerger will see how the veteran works alongside Darren Collison in a more extended role. Lawson had been eating into Collison's playing time while coming off the bench, but both players should benefit from additional minutes while sticking in the staring five. Instead, players like Ben McLemore, who was pushed to the bench Friday, along with Garrett Temple and Arron Afflalo could be more at risk of sacrificing playing time.
