Crowder takes umbrage with Celtics fans cheering Hayward

The Boston Celtics picked up a 115-104 win over the Utah Jazz on Tuesday, but the night wasn't all good for the C's.

Following the contest, Jae Crowder took to Twitter to vent about the fans at TD Garden showing love to Gordon Hayward before tipoff.

It didn't end there, though, with the 26-year-old small forward responding to a Bostonian's ultimatum in a pretty bold way (in a now-deleted tweet):

He also retweeted a suggestion to "come back home to the Mavs" and replied (in another canned tweet) to a Celtics fan account, saying he'll be appreciated in places other than Boston.

Crowder told reporters after the game he was heated over spectators rooting for Hayward, who plays the same position as him and has been linked to Boston in rumors for some time.

"I didn't like that at all. I think that was a sign of disrespect to me from the fans. That sparked a little fire in me," Crowder said, as quoted by Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe.

During the past offseason, the swingman tweeted several sleeping emojis in response to an article suggesting Boston could be interested in pursuing Hayward when he hits free agency following the 2016-17 campaign. The Celtics have reportedly expressed "real interest" in the Butler product and shopped a lottery pick in last year's draft for him.

Crowder, who's under contract in Beantown until 2020, had one of his best games this season while matched up with Hayward. He recorded an efficient 21 points and three rebounds in 35 minutes, but all that's become overshadowed by his postgame outburst.
