2016 wasn't for everyone, but it was certainly a year to remember for basketball fans.

From buzzer-beaters to vicious posterizations, here are the top 10 plays of year:

10. Mudiay nails ridiculous game-winner

The game was ultimately meaningless, but that doesn't make Emmanuel Mudiay's buzzer-beating three against the Philadelphia 76ers any less incredible.

The young Nuggets guard had his clutch gene in full effect back in March, throwing up a prayer that brought what was left of the Pepsi Center crowd to its feet.

9. Gordon throws down an in-game 50

Aaron Gordon followed up his dazzling performance in this year's dunk contest with a jaw-dropping jam just a couple weeks later, wowing the Staples Center crowd with a nasty windmill over the Lakers.

The Orlando Magic don't appear to be any closer to a postseason appearance, but they've become a little more watchable thanks to their high-flying young forward.

8. Bradley stuns Cavs with buzzer-beating triple

The Boston Celtics may have finished the season with another first-round exit, but they're still capable of beating even the toughest of opponents on any given night.

Avery Bradley single-handedly silenced the Quicken Loans Arena crowd back in February, hitting a buzzer-beating three that gave his Celtics the narrow victory over the eventual champs.

7. Kyrie slithers through Rockets' defense with dazzling handles

Steph Curry is a magician with the basketball, but the title of best dribbler in the NBA likely belongs to Kyrie Irving.

Irving's Uncle Drew handles were on full display back in January, slicing through the entire Rockets defense with a series of jaw-dropping dribbles.

6. Nance baptizes David West

Like father, like son.

Larry Nance Jr. proved highlight-reel dunks run in the family, putting David West on a poster with a nasty, one-handed jam in transition.

Here's hoping the 23-year-old forward is healthy when this year's Dunk Contest rolls around.

5. Kyrie finds LeBron for monsterous alley-oop

Heading back to Cleveland down 2-0, the Cavaliers were in desperate need of a Game 3 victory to get back into the series with the Golden State Warriors.

Cleveland answered with a dominant performance at Quicken Loans Arena that was highlighted by one of the most impressive alley-oops in Finals history.

4. LaVine puts Len on a poster

While he's turned into a dependable 3-point shooter, Zach LaVine's bread and butter remains his ability to attack the basket.

Poor Alex Len is likely still having nightmares about this one.

3. Curry downs the Thunder with deep 3

It often seems like no shot is too difficult for Steph Curry.

The Warriors point guard showed off his endless range against Oklahoma City earlier this year, hitting a 37-foot bomb to down the Thunder in overtime.

With shots like this, it's no surprise why Curry was voted unanimous MVP.

2. 'The Shot'

With the title on the line, Tyronn Lue turned to his All-Star point guard to get the job done.

Kyrie Irving answered with what is now known simply as "The Shot," fading over a helpless Steph Curry to put the Cavaliers up for good.

1. 'The Block'

While he's certain to go down as one of the league's all-time greatest scorers, the moment that will likely define LeBron James' NBA career was accomplished on the other end of the floor.

Tied at 89 with less than two minutes remaining, the four-time MVP helped keep Cleveland's title hopes alive with the greatest chase-down block the league will ever see.

Had LeBron arrived just a split-second later, Cavaliers fans may still be yearning for their franchise's first championship.
