Celtics teammates pushing Brown to enter Slam Dunk contest

Jaylen Brown's offensive game remains extremely raw, but his high-flying approach has quickly caught the eyes of some of his Boston Celtics teammates.

With All-Star weekend just a couple months away, veteran guards Isaiah Thomas and Gerald Green are making it known that they expect to see the third overall pick in this year's Slam Dunk contest.

"It will be good to show the world his athleticism," Green told ESPN's Chris Forsberg. "A guy like that, man, anything for him to get exposed is pretty good. And it's his rookie year so I think your rookie year, you get to kinda go out there and have fun, experience it, and then later on in your years you can just focus on things you need to focus on to get better as a player."

Green won the contest in 2007, wowing the judges with a number of creative jams, including the infamous "cupcake dunk."

After hearing that Green was advocating for Brown, Thomas tweeted Wednesday to show his support for the young rookie.

While his teammates have made their wishes abundantly clear, Brown still isn't sure whether he wants to participate.

"I don't know, man. I haven't really thought about it. (Thomas is) putting a little bit (of) pressure on me. ... (Green) wants me to do it, too. He said he's got some ideas for me," Brown said. "We got some time. We'll think about it, I guess."
