Jazz's Alec Burks: Practices Monday for first time since surgery

Burks (ankle) practiced in a limited fashion on Monday, Andy Larsen of KSL.com reports.

Analysis:

Though Burks has yet to take part in full-contact work, his involvement Monday in a limited capacity is an encouraging sign. It's his first on-court workout since requiring surgery on the left ankle Nov. 1, and it's expected that he'll increase his activity in the days to come. The Jazz haven't handed down an official timetable for Burks' return, but it's generally expected that he'll be back at some point in early-to-mid January.
