Former head coach George Karl is looking mighty lonely these days.

Chauncey Billups, the former point guard of the Denver Nuggets, took Karl to task on ESPN's Christmas Day broadcast for disparaging comments he made toward players like Carmelo Anthony and Kenyon Martin.

"George Karl is wack for that," Billups said on the broadcast. "It was wrong, it was wrong. He stepped out of line."

"There were some things that made some sense as a coach you can say, but as you know Jalen (Rose), as someone who has been in the league for a long time, there's certain things (you don't reveal), you don't bring people behind certain closets."

Excerpts released from Karl's upcoming book "Furious George" included low blows in the direction of his former players for suffering from a fatherless upbringing.

"Kenyon and Carmelo carried two big burdens: All that money and no father to show them how to act like a man," Karl wrote.

Anthony took the high road and declined comment, but Karl's scathing words sparked outrage from the likes of Martin, J.R. Smith, Wilson Chandler, and Reggie Evans.
