Pacers' Monta Ellis: Could miss another week

Ellis (groin) indicated that he could miss at least another week, the Indianapolis Star's Jordan Wilson reports. "[The right groin] feels good, it's getting better and better every day," Ellis said. "I haven't been doing anything [in practice.] Maybe some time this week I'll start doing something, but I've just been in the weight room getting stronger and I'll probably start doing court stuff later this week."

Analysis:

While Ellis acknowledged that his groin has shown improvement of late, he'll remain out Monday against the Wizards, and he hinted that his absence could extend for at least a few more games. The fact that Ellis has yet to resume on-court work seemingly means he'll remain out Tuesday against the Knicks, and his status for Thursday's matchup with the Celtics appears to also be in considerable jeopardy. Following that contest, the Pacers are off for three days before taking on the Bulls in Chicago on Dec. 26. So long as Ellis remains out, Glenn Robinson will likely continue to start and see increased minutes in his place.
