76ers' Jerryd Bayless: Undegoes wrist surgery, out for season

Bayless had surgery on his left wrist Thursday to repair a torn ligament and is expected to miss the remainder of the season, Tom Moore of Calkins Media reports.

Analysis:

Bayless is expected to have his wrist completely immobilized for the next 12 weeks and will then have to go through the long and tedious rehabilitation process throughout the rest of the regular season and into the offseason. He can safely be dropped in season-long fantasy leagues, with the potential to add Sergio Rodriguez, who's now expected to take over as the team's starting point guard. Look for Rodriguez to continue to play big minutes, with T.J. McConnell also having an expanded role off the bench. Bayless' contract is locked in with the Sixers through the 2018-19 season, so he should be back next year as a member of the backcourt rotation.
