Suns' Tyson Chandler: Pounds glass in loss to Pelicans

Chandler posted 14 points (5-6 FG, 4-5 FT) and 21 rebounds (seven offensive) in Sunday's 120-119 overtime loss to the Pelicans.

Analysis:

The 21 rebounds were a season high for Chandler, who had previously reached 18 boards three times during the campaign. While Chandler's meager average of 7.4 points per game illustrates his limited role in the Suns' offensive attack, he continues to convert his opportunities with optimal efficiency, which is reflected in his 70 percent mark from the field on the season. Chandler is at risk of losing more playing time in the second half with the non-contending Suns expected to clear the way for younger players to prove themselves, but at least for the time being, expect him to dominate the minutes at center over fourth-year player Alex Len.
