Pacers' Monta Ellis: Ruled out Monday vs. Hornets

Ellis has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Hornets with a right groin strain.

Analysis:

The Pacers had previously been labeling Ellis' injury as a sore right groin, so the strain implies that it may be a more significant issue than the team initially led on. While Ellis will continue to be evaluated on a day-to-day basis, he'll at least be held out for the first time all season Monday. There are still three other games left on the Pacers' schedule this week, but given that Ellis was struggling mightily before suffering the injury, it may be a prudent move for fantasy owners to sit him out even if he recovers quickly. With Ellis out of commission for at least one game, Rodney Stuckey, C.J. Miles and Glenn Robinson figure to absorb most of his playing time.
