Kobe, Melo have had 'countless conversations' on dealing with Jackson

USA TODAY Sports

It's been proven on numerous occasions that current New York Knicks president and 11-time championship-winning head coach Phil Jackson is devoid of a filter between his brain and his mouth, which can make playing for him or working under him quite a chore.

His recent comments concerning Knicks All-Star Carmelo Anthony and his tendency to hold onto the ball too long - thus hindering the team's offense - rubbed the 32-year-old the wrong way, although he never directly called out Jackson for his controversial take.

Chatting with former Los Angeles Laker Kobe Bryant, who won five titles with Jackson on the sidelines during his legendary 20-year career, has opened Anthony's eyes to how to better handle Jackson's philosophies and thought process.

"Me and Kobe have countless conversations about that," Anthony said after his team's practice on Saturday, according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

"That's something I've learned over the years, especially with Phil. He's going to talk. Nobody can stop that. So try not to read into it too much."

Anthony mentioned that he and Jackson had a short meeting Saturday morning, and he was ready to move on from the comments. As far as what was said, well ...

"I'm pretty sure I might be in a book," Anthony joked. "Maybe a couple of books.

"We talked. We had a conversation this morning. He said his piece. I said my piece. Two men spoke. There's not many amends to be made. From my standpoint, there's no problems, there's no issues."
